The Center for Brain Injury and Rehabilitation is a community-based program that provides supports and services to assist individuals who have sustained a traumatic brain injury with successful inclusion within their community. The center offers supports in the following areas: Service Coordination/Case Management, Independent Living Skills, Structured Day Program, Positive Behavioral Intervention Support Services, Community Integration Counseling, Community Transition Services and Home and Community Support Services.

Technician Position Summary:

The Structured Day Program Technician I is responsible for implementing a plan to achieve outcomes as specified in the Service Plan in an outpatient congregate setting or the community, to improve or maintain the participant’s skills and ability to live as independently as possible.

 

Technician Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Provides instruction, supervision to participants in accordance with Service Plan.
  • Assures continuity of participant services and high standards of participant care; facilitates individualized service planning and implementation of goals in cooperation with the treatment team.
  • Provides training and assistance to participants to help participants develop the skills necessary to become more functionally independent within their community and maximizing their interaction with non-disabled people. Develops an individualized approach to each participant, implements selected goals, and participates in service planning in cooperation with treatment team.
  • Maintains and updates required records and documents services provided. Reports relevant observation of individual behaviors, progress and reactions.

 

Technician Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Ability to work a flexible schedule. Demonstration of leadership skills. Ability to problem solve in difficult situations. Demonstrated creativity, flexibility and knowledge of cognitive remediation and techniques. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Able to crouch, kneel, stoop, reach, turn, handle, and manipulate necessary equipment in order to provide self-care/home management training to clients.

 

Pay: $18.10 per hour
