Reporting to:        Team Lead, Automation

Location:               Dundalk, Ireland (Remote)

Hours of Work:    37.5 per week (Mon-Fri, 09:00 - 17:30)

 

 

 

Job Summary:

Join our global Software Quality Assurance (SQA) team as a Sr QA Automation Engineer, playing a key role in designing automation scripts and aiding the automation team in maintaining existing frameworks. The responsibilities span from developing an automation test plan, and handling automation efforts for enterprise applications to working with Agile Scrum teams on Agile Release Trains (ART). The Sr. QA Automation Engineer will develop automation scripts, maintain existing automation coverage as needed to fulfil the business objective, endorse the implementation of test automation best practices and mentor other team members in leveraging the automation framework across the board.

 

 

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain the test automation test plan for products as needed while continuing to enhance and modify based on industry best practices.
  • Utilize automation frameworks to independently develop scripts for supporting automation testing for APIs, front end web-based GUIs and back-end processing systems.
  • Provide technical support to other members of the team in automation efforts.
  • Execute automation strategy, define, and manage automation metrics, and champion process improvements.
  • Mentors junior SDETS in test automation best practices and adherence to overall testing strategy.
  • Advocate and implement enterprise-wide standards and processes that support automated process improvement across the SDLC.
  • Responsible for maintaining existing automation scripts as per strategic roadmap.
  • Assist in defining measurable testing metrics, design and maintain automated reporting and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with the global SQA team to ensure consistent quality across all our products.

 

 

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, focusing on automation testing.
  • Experience working on one or more frameworks (that includes Selenium, ReadyAPI, Power Automate).
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps, creating and maintaining automation pipelines and releases.
  • Experienced in performing test automation code reviews, identifying targets for automation, and recommending automation best practices.
  • Experienced with automating UI, APIs, web services and back-end processes.
  • Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, especially in relation to automation testing.
  • Sound understanding of Agile Scrum principles.
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional teams globally is preferred.
  • Troubleshooting experience in a Windows environment, both client and servers.
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent Communication: Regular interaction with various global teams and stakeholders requires robust written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-Oriented: Thriving in a collaborative environment and being eager to actively contribute to the team's goals is important.
  • Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, proactively anticipating potential issues before they manifest into problems.
  • Analytical Mindset: High technical expertise, including the ability to solve complex problems quickly and effectively, is crucial.
  • Adaptable: Adjusting to different time zones and managing different projects simultaneously is part of the role. Adapting to changing priorities and requirements is key.
