PRIMARY PURPOSE

This role is a part of the Chief Information Office (CIO). This position will serve as the Security Operations Lead (Sec Ops) for CNA’s security program reporting to the Deputy Director of Corporate Security & Facility Security Officer (FSO). This position will act as the primary back up to the FSO. The Sec Ops Lead will manage the physical security component of CNA’s security program. They will assist the FSO directly in managing the Counterintelligence, Insider threat, Incident Response, and Industrial Security programs. Additionally, the Sec Ops Lead will work directly with the SCIF to support mission requirements as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND / OR DUTIES

  1. Perform as the lead for physical security related items. Manage CNA’s access and intrusion detection systems which include but not limited to: CCTV, Datawatch, safes, locks, doors, badge production and vendor management.
  2. Assist the FSO with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) coordination, Information Security project management, Insider threat analysis, travel risk management, annual security review and self-inspection, administrative inquiries, investigations, incident response, counterintelligence projects and other outreach initiatives.
  3. Lead internal investigations on matters concerning security violations, misconduct, and other situations involving national security. Consult with and support the Compliance Committee on internal investigations, as required.
  4. Mange the CNA security guard force. This includes hiring, training, time approval, and performance reviews.
  5. Assist the FSO in creating, reviewing, and implementing security policies and procedures.
  6. Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections of CNA’s open storage areas.
  7. Assist the FSO and Assistant FSO with standard DISS/NBIS functions.
  8. Perform as the secondary lead for security management supporting Global Safety and Security (GSS) and Global Information Security (GIS), in support of our contractual requirements.
  9. Assist the Contractor Assistant Special Security Officer (ASSO) in conducting and documenting SCIF self-inspections as required.
  10. Assist the ASSO/CSSO in analyzing, interpreting, and implementing security related policies, procedures, methods, requirements, practices, deliverables and/or directives as required.
  11. Serve as a general resource to employees, on Security related matters in accordance with CNA, Navy, DoD and IC directives, instructions, and requirements.
  12. Lead special projects as directed by the Director of Security and FSO.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and qualified security work experience.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 8 years related experience as AFSO/FSO including extensive background working in a DoD, Government Contracting, Intelligence Community, Military environment.
  3. Skills:
    • Must have proven customer service skills; computer literacy and proficiency; excellent oral and written communication skills,
    • working knowledge of NISPOM, COMSEC, NBIS, DISS, SWIFT, and familiarity with Intelligence Community directives.
    • Ability to work as part of a security team that can respond rapidly to the needs of CNA staff and clients.
    • Ability to work effectively with staff internal and external to CNA.
    • Strong understanding and working knowledge of the 32 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part17; Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs); National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM);
    • DOD personnel and information security regulations; Information systems security program requirements; Defense Information Security System (DISS), National Background Investigation Service (NBIS) and Scattered Castles databases.
    • Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
    • Effective written and oral communications skills to support interaction with all levels of personnel. Applicant should have a “customer service” mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
  4. Clearance: This position requires an active final DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of hire and the ability to maintain a security clearance.
  5. Hybrid Work Eligibility: This position is eligible for telecommuting or hybrid work arrangements at the discretion of the Supervisor.  Employees may be required to work at CNA headquarters or other work locations resulting in changes to the scheduled telecommuting or hybrid work arrangements.
