Summary/Purpose

Responsible for leading their team in performing machine repair, improvements and preventative maintenance.  Provides support to manufacturing and die cast in producing high quality finished goods that meet or exceed our customer’s specification.  They are responsible for maintaining 5S in their area; scheduling manpower; safety; quality; meeting targets; record keeping; time keeping; verifying all PM’s are completed; filling in for Maintenance Specialists; communicating with the supervisor and other shifts; attending daily FMDS meetings; conducting team meetings; creating and maintaining job elements and monitoring standard work.  First Responder.

 

Starting Rate: $34.09/hr. + $1/hr. shift premium

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.

  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.
  • Flexible to work in any area of the operation.
  • Willing and able to work any shift.
  • Must be able to comprehend English and follow direction from JTEKT supervisor and/or manager.
  • Must perform all instructions as listed in the Job Element.
  • Follow standard work as described in the Job Elements for each operation.
  • Inspect all safety equipment prior to use.
  • Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Acquire knowledge and ability to make electrical and mechanical repairs to JTEKT equipment, use maintenance shop equipment, hand tools and computers.
  • Project a positive outlook in conversation and conduct.
  • Able to work in a fast paced team environment without direct supervision.
  • Able to achieve forklift certification and drive proficiently, as determined is needed by our business demands.
  • Must complete First Responder Training (including First Aid, CPR and Blood-borne Pathogens).
  • May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
  • Have an understanding of JTEKT’s Environmental Policy and EMS
  • Know their roles and responsibilities in conforming with their facility EMS
  • Understand the significant environmental aspects of their work activities (as appropriate) and consequences of departing from specified work instructions.
  • Maintain environmental records for which they are responsible

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has supervisory responsibilities for hourly team members within the department.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
