Summary/Purpose
|
- Creates demand plan for the North American plants and Supply Chain Planning for use in Business planning, Capacity, Material planning, and Master Scheduling. This position also contributes to continuous improvement projects.
|
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
|
- Demand plan (pieces) is generated on an item level, using all available data including order book, demand history, sales volume change notifications, system generated forecasts, and external market data.
Complete data for monthly consensus meetings with Sales and Marketing to refine demand plan and address any specific customer, market, or plant issues. Participate in monthly plant meetings and resolve any demand concerns. Provide base piece forecast for forecasted items for the business planning process. Work one on one with an assigned plant or product group to ensure overall demand planning functions are supported (Demand Profile, MTO group forecast by Value stream, overall item demand plan) allowing each plant to have a point person in Demand Planning. Update and analyze all monthly metrics including, but not limited to forecast accuracy and sales performance against plan. Participate in cross functional improvement projects. Contribute to development of department goals and plans. |

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Must be detail oriented, results driven
Able to work and guide associates in day-to-day tasks. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, & PowerPoint Oracle/Demantra experience highly desirable. Excellent communication skills Able to interface with all levels of the organization. |
Education and Experience:
|
- 4-year degree, Supply Chain, Economics, or Analytics preferable
- 5 years of experience in supply chain, with demand planning experience preferred.
- APICS certification desirable
|
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
|
|
- Work is mostly performed in a remote office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, and with substantial time spent working on a computer. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.
Role is primarily performed from one’s own home office. Commuting to the Greenville, SC office for meetings and other activities is expected once per month at employee’s expense. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Travel by automobile and plane required approximately <10% of time. |
