Summary/Purpose

Provide Technical Support, know how and hands on work in one of these three skill areas - Electrical, Mechanical, or Tool Room (or some combination of all three). Main Role of the Position will be either doing Machine Tool Mechanical Overhaul or Build, Electrical wiring and startup of Machine Tools and Automated systems or Tool room work related to supporting Overhaul and Automation activities.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

• Electrical Specialization– Build and Wire Electrical systems from Schematics for Machine Tools and Robotics; Help Start-up / Troubleshoot Machines and Automated systems
• Mechanical Specialization– Build from prints or Rebuild Machine Tool Mechanical Sub-assemblies, such as installing Linear Rail systems, Ball screws, Thrust Bearing packs, Spindles; Be able to do Minor Scraping and Machine Tool Re-alignment; Build and Install Machine Tool Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
• Tool Room Specialization- Make classical tools and fixtures utilizing milling, drilling machines, surface grinders, ID/OD grinders, lathes, and tool sharpening equipment; Fabricate using Weld shop equipment
• General Duties
• Work could be divided between OverHaul of Machine Tools and Building / Installing Automated Robotics systems
• Travel as needed to JTEKT or other facilities to support above activities
• Work daily overtime and Saturdays and/or Sundays when directed by immediate supervisor or, as necessary, to complete essential job duties.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Demonstrated understanding of Machine Tool Related systems (Electrically, Mechanically or Tool & Fixture)
• Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
• Able to Interface with a variety of personality types to keep Project Sequence moving towards completion
• Basic working knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental Standards and Regulations

Education and Experience: 

• High School Diploma or GED and 2 years Industrial experience, or Associates Degree in technical field and 1 year Industrial experience

• Able to walk approximately 3 – 7 miles per day
• Perform repetitive motions while walking or standing

• Current Schedule is Dayshift, 4 – 10’s Monday through Thursday
