Credit Risk Analyst - Hybrid

 

Job Summary:

 

As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the credit risk team in evaluating and managing the credit risk associated with our credit product. You will analyze credit data, prepare reports, and assist in developing risk management strategies to minimize potential losses.

 

What you’ll need:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Econometrics, Actuarial Sciences, Business Management, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in credit risk analysis, preferable within the credit card industry.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau etc.). Hands on.
  • Familiarity with credit scoring models and risk assessment techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products namely Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reside in Wisconsin or Minnesota or have the ability to relocate.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Assess the credit worthiness of new and existing credit customers.
  • Analyze credit data and other relevant data to identify potential risks.
  • Understand credit risk scoring models and risk rating systems.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed credit risk reports and dashboards for management.
  • Document credit risk assessments and decisions in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor the credit portfolio to identify trends and potential risk exposure.
  • Assist in the implementation of risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
  • Review and update credit risk policies and procedures as needed.
  • Work closely with the credit risk manager and other team members to ensure effective risk management practices.
  • Communicate credit risk findings to and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Collaborate with other departments e.g., finance, compliance etc. to ensure alignment of risk management efforts.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in credit risk management.
  • Participate in inhouse training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
