Job Overview

The EHS/Training Coordinator is an appropriate level management individual that has the necessary skills & authority to carry out the responsibilities of the job. Management will support the EHS/Training Coordinator to ensure that the One Myers EHS Vision to include 100% regulatory compliance is implemented and maintained. The EHS/Training Coordinators will report directly to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Platform EHS Leader. The position also assures that appropriate investigations, documentation, and software systems are updated in a timely manner in support of the environmental control and personnel safety systems. This includes achieving production, delivery, cost, safety, quality, and organizational effectiveness goals for the plant site and corporation.


Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Conduct New Employee Safety Orientation. Will work closely with other employees who will be involved in conducting employee safety training.
  • Establish an Annual Safety Training Plan and maintain attendance records of such training. Training records will be maintained & made available for routine auditing.
  • Oversee the training plan is being executed and partner with all departments to ensure their specific training is performed according to the annual plan.
  • Ensure training records are kept in accordance with standard procedures and recordkeeping guidelines.
  • Lead & conduct regular plant safety inspections and maintain copies of the inspections.
  • Counsel & inform employees & supervisors on safe work behavior.
  • Communicate the effectiveness of the safety program to plant management as well as the Platform EHS Manager.
  • Update the safety program as necessary with approval from the Platform EHS Manager.
  • Conduct with plant supervisor’s accident investigations on all injuries requiring outside medical attention.
  • Work with all levels of management on safety/EHS related issues.
  • Stay up to date on all OSHA regulations. Timely completion of OSHA Logs.
  • Lead by example and follow all company safety policies. Will be a servant leader to engage all employees at assigned plant(s). Will drive open, honest communication.
  • Utilize Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology to find & fix EHS gaps to ensure 100% compliance, 100% of the time.



  • 5 or more years experience in manufacturing preferred. One year in quality and/or safety preferred.
  • EHS or Training Certificate(s) or enrolled to obtain.
  • Ability to recognize present, envision future, and develop and implement tactics to get there.
  • Communication skills to express ideas and concepts verbally, visually, and in writing.
  • Proven leadership of cross-functional teams delivering sustainable process, financial, and operational results.
  • Team orientation, communication, presentation, and people skills.
  • Systematic-process approach, analytical skills, problem solving and decisiveness.

  • Computer Competency + experience with Microsoft Office Products


Working Conditions 

  • Able to work in a hot humid environment for extended periods of time. 
  • This job is in a typical manufacturing environment, to include, but not limited to: 
  • Ovens, torches, and rotating tools 
  • Forklifts and other moving machinery 
  • Loud work environment 


Physical Requirements

    • The employee is required to walk, sit, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed.
    • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
