Process Technician - M-F, 11P to 7A

Job Summary:


A motivated team-oriented person who provides technical processing support for injection molding production.

  • Cycle in injection molding machines and automation to obtain first article work piece within required dimensional and visual tolerances


  • Troubleshoots injection molding defects and correct any issues through following proven problem-solving methods


  • Troubleshoot automation issues. Communicating with the process engineer when more advanced skill sets are required.


  • Determine root cause of production issues and implement solution


  • Documentation of any approved process changes


  • Perform/Review Process Audits and make corrections as needed.


  • Provide support during material and color changes


  • Follow safe start up and shut down procedures per production schedule  


  • Proactively contribute, evaluate, and document continuous improvement activities  


  • Operates fork-lifts and cranes


  • Work independently and in teams to meet production goals


  • Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Akro-Mils / Myers policies and OSHA Standards


  • Maintain 6S principles within the plant


  • Support training of current/new mold technicians in best practices.


  • Low Level Priority: Perform mold, color, and/or insert changes to support production



  • Five plus years of experience in injection molding processing
  • Experience in set up of automation and end of arm tooling
  • Understanding of plastic processing variables
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting injection molded part defects
  • Desire to take on new challenges/opportunities
  • Understanding of mold, machine, and auxiliary equipment functions

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Knowledge of Scientific Injection Molding



  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization



Ability to do two mathematical operations to arrive at a solution



Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
