Job Title: Night Crew 3rd

Job Summary:

The Night Crew 3rd is responsible for supporting the Night Crew Manager and Night Crew 2nd in supervising, directing and maintaining proper pricing, stocking, facing and rotation of merchandise in the Grocery department in a manner that conveys and attractive store image to our valued customers. In addition, the Night Crew 3rd assists the Night Crew Manager and Night Crew 2nd in ordering store product and scheduling in an efficient manner according to company policy to help ensure that all department operations contribute to the financial best interest of the store.

 

 

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Assists in delegating and assigning responsibilities and specific tasks to night crew team members as delegated by store management and ensuring the completion of assigned tasks according to company standards.
  • Assists in monitoring shelf price integrity and restocking to ensure accuracy, proper product rotation and quality protection.
  • Assists in monitoring procedures for case cutting to minimize potential for damaged product and loss to the company and processes damaged and spoiled product according to company policies and procedures.
  • Assists in ordering and inventory control; notifies store management regarding invoice errors and product shortages according to company policies and procedures.
  • Becomes a licensed forklift driver by participating in accredited company training course covering all OSHA required material.
  • Assists in maintenance of “Wall of Values,” end displays and soda wall as directed.
  • Coordinates with Grocery Manager and Store Director to maintain backstock items as well as merchandise on store shelves.
  • Takes stock to applicable storage and/or work load areas.
  • Assists in maintaining functions of forklift lifts and other equipment as needed. Reports damaged or malfunctioning equipment to store management.
  • Maintains a positive shopping experience for customers while performing assigned duties.
  • Monitors store conditions and reports areas of concern to store management in a prompt manner.
  • Assists in training and development of night crew team members as assigned.
  • Able to perform duties as an experienced Grocery Clerk as needed.
  • Comply with all company safety policies and adheres to all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Observes all company policies
  • Perform all other duties and assignments as directed.

 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 1+ years of Night General Clerk experience preferred
  • Participates in and becomes certified in OSHA accredited company forklift training.
  • Forklift experienced preferred
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols including food safety and properly utilizing and maintaining necessary equipment.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, gross margins, markup percentages, ratios, shrinkage and apply to basic concepts of algebra.
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts as needed.

 

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. moving pallets
  • Ability to push/pull utilizing necessary equipment as needed.
  • Hand eye coordination and dexterity to properly utilize equipment to store product and stock refrigerated sections of department as well as displays.

 

 

 

Work Conditions:

  • Standard Work Hours: Typically, every day of the week including weekends and holidays, minimum with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
  • Work environment includes refrigerated storage areas and relatively damp or humid conditions including wet or slippery floor surfaces.
  • Noise levels in the department are typically moderate but can be extremely noisy  if a need arises to check on refrigeration or enter the compressor/machine room.
  • Dress Code: Professional and presentable, allowing for working in colder environment and utilizing safety toe shoes.
