Job Summary: 

TheGeneral Clerk assiststhe Store Directorincleaning ,stocking ,and day to dayoperations of the sales floor.Additionally,they are also responsible for contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers,including assisting in maintaining department quality standards. 

Essential Functions of the Position: 

• Replenishes productsin various departments as assigned. 

• Collects shopping carts and cleans parking lots throughout shift. 

• Checks displaysand shelvesfor any out-of-stockproducts to refill for customer purchases. 

• Helps customers with locatingitems and carrying out purchases as needed. 

• Movesproductin and out of storage areas for proper display and storage of goodsincludinginrefrigerating storage boxes. 

• Assistsin maintaininginventory control to ensure freshness, product quality and turnover for maximum sales and to minimize out of stock or overstocked products. 

• Returns all products to shelves that customers have moved or returned before purchase,often called “go backs”. 

• May assistwith fulfillment of online customer orders with accuracy and efficiency. 

• Sweeps store hourly by following store maps of each section of the store and properly documenting sweeps by scanning QR codes throughout store. 

• Maintains store cleanliness inside and out ,including bathrooms and trash cans. 

• Handles damaged and spoiled productsaccording to company policy and assistsin controlling the level of damaged goods. 

• Monitors expirationdates of labeledgoods to ensure only fresh products are available for customer purchase. 

• Assists in ensuring afavorable department image to customers by maintaining a clean, attractive and friendly department. 

• Maintains a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times including observing company appearance standards.  

• Complies with all safety policies and procedures. 

• Follows local, stateand federal health and civil code regulations. 

• Complies with all state, county and local weights and measures laws and labeling requirements. 

• Reports malfunctioning refrigeration or equipment to store management immediately.  

• Observes shift operating hours at all times as scheduled or assigned by store management. 

• Greets all customers and provides them with prompt and courteous service 

• Performs all other duties and assignments as directed. 

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities: 

• 1+ years ofSales Floor Associate or other relatedexperience preferredbut not required. 

• Ability to follow marketing plans for effective space management based on product movement, customer demand and profitability. 

• Ability to follow company protocols for receiving productto ensure product quality standards and accuracy of quantity. 

• Good verbal communication skills. 

• Ability to follow all safety protocols including food safety and properly utilizingand maintaining necessary equipment. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and use hands to stock and prepare productand maintain department sanitization. 

• Ability to stand for long periodsof time. 

• Ability to lift up to50lbs. as needed. 

• Hand eye coordination and dexterity to properly utilize equipment to stock refrigerated sections of departments as well as displays. 

Work Conditions: 

• Standard Work Hours: Typically, every day of the week including weekends and holidayswith occasional overtime to meet project deadlines. 

• Workenvironment includes refrigerated storage areas and relatively damp or humid conditions including wet or slippery floor surfaces. 

• Noise levels are typically moderate but can be extremely noisy if a need arises to check on refrigeration or enter the compressor/machine room. 

• Dress Code: Professional and presentable, allowing for working in colder environment and utilizingsafety toe shoeswhen operatingelectric pallet jacksandforklifts.
