Plant Shipping/Handling - Material Handler

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Safely and efficiently perform tasks as needed to help with daily warehouse operations.  Ensure timely distribution of materials between the facility; loading and unloading of trucks, bagging semi-finish materials, and staging finished product in designated inventory location. General housekeeping and adherence to safety, quality, and throughput per Pregis policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare finished stock for outbound shipment by identifying, inspecting, bagging, pulling, and staging product in the correct location.
• Inspect, transport, and load products to include sealing of trailers and proper staging of outbound loads.
• Assists to maintain a well-organized, FIFO (first in, first out) controlled inventory by identifying and placing materials and supplies in stock locations as defined by management.
• Safely drive a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unload trucks and transfer material within the plant as needed.
• Perform material move transactions in the SAP system to ship outbound or inbound loads.
• Process required paperwork to ensure shipped and received goods are handled in inventory systems appropriately.
• Perform daily inventory as needed.
• Other miscellaneous responsibilities as deemed necessary.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:  Experience in warehouse operations.  High School diploma or equivalent with commensurate math and English language proficiency.  Personal computer literacy.  Minimum of one year of related Pregis experience in warehouse and/or production.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1.           Ability to lift 50 pounds and move weight greater than 50 pounds. 

2.           Ability to operate a forklift, hand truck, and small tools

3.           Ability to work on a concrete floor for the duration of a typical working shift.

4.           Ability to work up to 5 minutes in temperatures up to 140 F.

5.           Ability to occasionally work from a man-lift or ladder at a height of 25 feet or less.
