Our Middle and High School Curriculum Specialist will be a member of Stratford’s C&I Team.  The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of educational principles, curriculum design, and instructional methodologies, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Curriculum Development:

Collaborate with C&I Team members and campus-level personnel to develop comprehensive curriculum frameworks for middle and high school levels.

Conduct thorough research on educational trends, instructional methodologies, and curriculum standards to inform curriculum development efforts.

Design scalable resources that support the implementation and delivery of approved Stratford curriculum across Stratford’s middle and high schools. 

 

Instructional Support:

Provide in-person, remote and asynchronous support, and professional development to teachers to facilitate effective implementation of curriculum materials and instructional strategies.

Conduct classroom observations to assess efficacy of new programs, as well as potential curriculum and instruction needs. 

Collaborate with educators and administrators to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted intervention plans to address student academic needs.

 

Data Analysis and Assessment:

Analyze student performance data, assessment results, and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum implementation and inform instructional decision-making.

Utilize data-driven insights to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in curriculum design and instructional delivery.

Support High School Administrators, when called upon, with academic testing processes aligned to assessment such as AP exams and OACD. 

 

Curriculum Alignment and Integration 

Ensure alignment of curriculum materials and instructional practices with Stratford’s standards and goals, and educational best practices.

Foster interdisciplinary connections and integration of content areas to promote holistic learning experiences for students.

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop cross-curricular projects, initiatives, and enrichment opportunities that enhance the coherence and relevance of the curriculum.

 

Professional Development and Training:

Plan and facilitate professional development workshops, seminars, and training sessions for educators to enhance their knowledge and skills in curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.

Stay abreast of emerging trends, research findings, and innovative practices in education to inform professional development offerings and curriculum enhancements.

Provide ongoing support and mentorship to a team of grade-level and department chairs.

 

MS and HS After-School Enrichment Alignment

Identify and develop academically-aligned after-school enrichment and summer for-credit programs 

Ensure consistency in their offerings across the MS and HS campuses (i.e. Model UN,  Math Circle, Robotics, etc.)

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an academic subject typically taught in middle or high school is a must. A Master's degree in Education or Curriculum and Instruction is a plus.

Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at the middle school and/or high school level.

Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment practices.

Strong understanding of educational standards, frameworks, and best practices.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Proficiency in data analysis and utilization of educational technology tools.

Ability to adapt to changing educational landscapes and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Must be able to travel to and among the Stratford School locations, primarily within the Bay Area.
