The Regional Nursing Director leads multi-state clinical staff and is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing services to ensure the best possible health for people we support. Responsible for assessing and improving different aspects of nursing systems and processes. Will be responsible for nursing services in the region including evaluation, training, compliance with policies and regulations. Works with and provides direction to nursing staff in the delivery of quality nursing services. Works collaboratively with the National Director of Nursing to implement corporate policies. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or commensurate experience. 
  • Six years of nursing experience, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities, including at least two years of progressive leadership experience.  
  • Current RN License.
  • 25% overnight travel may be required.
  • Must have valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a full background check.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and walk for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the delivery of high-quality, holistic, person-centered nursing supports through coordination and guidance of all nursing functions within all residential environments from time of admission throughout time in care. Leads in collaboration with operations and the management teams, directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with regulations and established policies and procedures.  
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination. Ensures high levels of engagement and mentors and provides career development or succession planning to their team. Ensures team is professionally trained and skilled in all areas on required nursing.
  • Recommends and implements courses of action, training and development, conflict resolutions, payroll, performance evaluations, and coaching and/or disciplinary actions as needed, for direct reports.
  • Works with the National Director of Nursing with profit and loss, managing overtime and agency use of skilled personnel to maintain budgetary current and forecasted nursing expenses. Manages all practical aspects of nursing labor in accordance with the nursing care needs.
  • Collaborates with quality leaders on quality metrics to report to leadership and assists with data collection and reporting of program results alongside the quality team.
