Position Summary:

The Admission Office is looking for three to four mature, well-spoken, confident students to work as Admission Fellows. Fellows assist the Admission staff with recruitment projects, at Open Houses, and in presenting information sessions for prospective students. The Admission Fellows are often called upon to serve as leaders among the Ambassador staff. 

 

The job requires energy, a sense of school pride and a serious commitment. We are looking for students who are professional, dependable, responsible, outgoing, comfortable with public speaking, and who would enjoy interacting with prospective students and families.  We are limiting this position to sophomores and juniors.

 

Essential Job Functions:

Perform information sessions and interviews with prospective students visiting campus; assigned to various Admission related projects; help lead the Ambassador program; call prospective students; work as a professional at Admission Events, such as Open Houses.

Other responsibilities include:

  1. Completion of full training
  2. Commitment to the Admission Office for a minimum of two hours per week
  3. Completion of office work
  4. Participation in Admission Office Events throughout the year
  5. Signature of Fellow contract, confidentiality agreement and social media contract
  6. Completion of other duties as assigned

 

Work Environment:

 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. 

 

The individual is routinely exposed to indoor conditions, outdoor weather and temperature extremes, and moderate noise level. Expected to work with Admission Counselors and other Admission Staff, as well as, Ambassadors.

 

Qualifications/Prerequisites:

 

  1. Good Academic and Social Standing:

Consideration for the job of Admission Fellow is competitive.  As a Fellow, the Admission Office expects that you will uphold the values of the College.  Therefore, to be considered for an interview, you must be in good academic and social standing.  The Admission Office will contact both the Dean of Students’ Office and the Registrar’s Office to ensure that you, as a potential hire, meet these requirements.  Completion of this application indicates that you give the Admission Office permission to access the aforementioned information.

    1. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

  1. SKILLS
    1. Leader, initiative, dependability, discipline, enthusiasm, positivity, organized, team player, customer service.

 

  1. EDUCATION
    1. Currently enrolled Albright College student sophomores through juniors. Training is in the spring and the job fully begins in the fall, so typically current seniors are unable to apply.
