Legal Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Legal Administrative Assistant in the Litigation Department will assist attorneys with handling and processing litigation matters, including administrative and clerical needs relating to those matters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prints and prepares pleadings for attorney review
- Finalizes pleading preparation for mailing or electronic filing
- Updates client electronic systems, including but not limited to CLS and E-file, for all litigation matters
- Organizes and maintains exhibits and attachments to pleadings
- Maintains queues for court follow-up on legal matters
- Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- MUST have experience in Florida
- At least two years of work experience in legal environment preferred
- Commercial Legal Software, ECF, and PACER experience highly preferred
- Litigation experience highly preferred
- Ability to manage and prioritize large caseload
