SUMMARY 

Responsible for leading the efforts to build out and lead the marketing function, developing marketing strategies and brand identity, and developing transition strategies from third party to first party lead generation. Participate in furthering the strategic direction in partnership with senior executive leadership. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Team Creation and Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop and manage a newly chartered marketing department from the ground up, including defining and building the internal and agency-resource team and recommend critical roles and scope of influence. The Head of Marketing and team will be responsible to define the consumer, insights, brand, messaging, and first-party lead generation strategy – and to execute successfully to drive growth targets set for the company.  

•    Brand Development: Refine the target consumer definition, acquire insights, and development into a compelling brand narrative. Core messaging should align with our value proposition and resonate to build our brand long-term while generating leads in the immediate term, including inbound phone and digital inquiries for health coverage. 

•    Establish Branded Website: Lead develop a new branded website and SEO strategy by selecting and guiding a winning web development and SEO agency. The established site will need to effectively represent our brand, generate leads via first-party and zero-party data, and rank for relevant keywords on Google and other search engines. 

•    Performance Marketing: Create a dedicated, in house first-party data performance marketing team and in-market approach. Deliver lead generation through SEM, programmatic social and display, affiliate marketing, and other relevant first-party and zero-party data channels.   

•    Operations Management: Oversee daily marketing operations, aligning them with our business goals. Implement systems and processes to improve productivity and operational efficiency. 

•    Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, partners, and team members. Partner directly with senior executive leaders and stakeholders to drive efficiency lead generation and overall business results for the company. Serve as a key representative of the company internally and externally.  

•    Analytics and KPI Attainment: Use internal, consumer, and digital data and analytics to guide decisions, identify opportunities for growth, and evolve our marketing operations from third-party to first-party data use. Define relevant marketing KPIs, gain executive buy-in and confidence, and drive to achieve them.  

•    Perform all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state and local laws, wherein the Company operates.

QUALIFICATIONS 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing 

Ten (10) or more years in marketing, brand strategy development, and building teams. 

Five (5) or more years, in management/leading a team of professionals. 

 

SKILLS 

Experience in building marketing teams via hiring and/or agency selection, preferably in healthcare, insurance or other highly-regulated sectors (e.g. consumer finance). 

Deep expertise in brand strategy development and execution, with a focus on organic and performance digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, affiliate marketing and social media. Proficient in website development (via team/agency), digital analytics and performance tools (e.g. GA, AdWords, Meta, CDPs). 

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders. 

Fact and data-driven mindset; proven skill in leveraging analytics for strategy and decision-making. 

Self-starter with a proven track record of driving successful projects and initiatives.
