ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Manager takes charge of all aspects of the site's Quality Management System. A highly motivated expert at driving site compliance to regulatory standards while leveraging a team-based approach with customers, sales, quality, engineering, and operations. A passion for continuous improvement, this role with be a leader in site initiatives to reduce costs and enhance quality.

LOCATION

Onsite - St Marys, Pennsylvania

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Daily management of the quality team 
  • Work with leadership to develop/deploy manufacturing/quality goals in support of site initiatives
  • Ownership of the quality management system and customer/3rd party audits
  • Drive compliance to TS16949/IATF standards as well as customer specific quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with other Amphenol manufacturing sites on quality related matters
  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvements based on assessment, feedback and audit results
  • Apply statistical methods and perform calculations to determine processes, staff requirements and standards
  • Coordinate quality assurance objectives/activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability and minimize cost
  • Provide technical support and direction regarding process and continuous improvement efforts
  • Partner with engineering resources on new equipment/processes with installation and qualification procedures to ensure total process control
  • Evaluate precision/accuracy of production/testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate continuous improvement
  • Prepare test plans/reports such as capability studies, qualification and validation for improvement activities
  • Provide key technical assistance on writing/executing test approvals and final reports
  • Analyze statistical data/product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives for finished products.
  • Use metrology/statistical methods to diagnose/correct improper quality assurance and control practices
  • When necessary provide on-site support and assistance to customers and suppliers
  • Travel as necessary (less than 25%)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year degree in engineering/technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Advanced knowledge and application of quality tools for process and product controls / improvement (SPC, Gage R&R, Process Capability, FMEA, DOE, 5 why, 6 sigma)
  • In depth knowledge of TS16949 and IATF standards
  • Highly technical/analytical
  • Effective communicator
