ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, the Product Manager will regularly interface with global engineering, sales, and business leadership to position Amphenol Protimeter as the leading instrument provider for building surveys and flood damage restoration verticals. Responsible for driving growth and market share across the portfolio.

 

LOCATION

Will consider candidates in the Billerica, MA  and Novi, MI locations

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Market and customer trends – 
    • Understand sensing market trends (e.g. regulatory, discontinuities, etc.) and the impact to OEMs, the broader value chain
    • Customer needs - engage OEMs, tiers and channel partners to understand needs, adoption drivers and purchasing criteria and behavior
    • Market size - evaluate sensing applications across market and sub-segments (Automotive HVAC, Medical Device, Industrial HVAC) and determine market size, adoption rates, Trends and growth potential across segments
    • Segmentation - develop OEM, tier and channel partner segmentation and define sensing adoption drivers and a value proposition for each segment
  • Competition & positioning - analyze the competitor landscape, benchmarking, value proposition, monitor potential entrants and establish a clear sensing positioning strategy across the global market
  • Product strategy and MGPP - define sensing capability requirements and work with engineering and product management to develop a differentiated and technically feasible product strategy in accordance with the established positioning and new trends such as wireless connectivity and Iot
  • Product pricing-
    • Support and manage pricing and selling strategies and provide profitability analysis for products across market segments and channels.
    • Analyze advantages to win new business at higher than market and competitive price
  • Prioritization-
    • Alignment of monthly, quarterly, and yearly activities with the strategic direction of the product line.
    • Evaluate pipeline to ensure the right opportunities are filling the funnel; maximize conversion and ROI of engineering resources.
  • Sales channel support - Work closely with the sales organization to support commercial engagement, including proposals, quotes, negotiation, etc.
  • Contract review- First pass business compliancy review. (NDA, Supplier agreement, T&C’s, purchasing agreements, etc.)
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, annual and 3-year financial forecasts.
  • International & Domestic Travel is Required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 Year Degree in engineering, business management or related field;
  • 10+ years of technical marketing or related experience with demonstrated success driving profitable revenue growth. 
  • Analytical skills and ability to prepare business growth initiatives and relevant PowerPoint presentations.
  • Experience with commercial Contract negotiations is a must
  • Working knowledge of market and application in building construction and or handheld instrumentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional global environment.
  • Goal oriented, focused on making a significant impact in a high growth environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Fluent in English (other foreign languages a plus).
  • Energetic, collaborative and autonomous
