Summary

This role is crucial in enhancing our inventory forecasting and roll-forward reporting processes. You will work closely with Finance Management and the Senior Cost Accountant to fine-tune our material purchases report, incorporate material and precious metal absorption, and analyze closed job variances. Your insights will drive effective inventory management and forecasting, ensuring our operations are both efficient and cost-effective.

Key Projects

Harmonize Material Purchases Report:

  • Align the material purchases report with month-end reporting requirements.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in data presentation.

Analyze Absorption Metrics:

  • Assess material absorption and precious metal absorption metrics.
  • Provide insights into how these absorptions impact financial performance.

Develop Closed Job Variance Report:

  • Create a detailed report on closed job variances.
  • Identify and analyze trends and correlations over the past 12 months.

Root Cause Analysis:

  • Investigate the underlying causes of closed job variances.
  • Identify major drivers by department and provide actionable recommendations.

Forecasting Model Creation:

  • Develop a forecasting model to predict inventory levels for the next three months.
  • Aim for an accuracy of +/- 0.5% in inventory predictions.

Presentation and Communication:

  • Create and deliver presentations on the benefits of data-driven inventory management.
  • Present findings on the forecasting model, including both gross and net inventory forecasts.

Requirements

Education:

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.

Physical:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and reach overhead.
  • Must be able to lift to 25lbs occasionally.

  • May 19th- August 5th, 2025
