JOB Description SUMMARY

Completes all work assigned by the supervising technician. Gains knowledge and skills through on the job training.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works alongside an assigned technician to learn to perform quality vehicle service maintenance and repairs.
  • Shows proficiency as an express/lube tech technician.
  • Only flags a completed line on the repair order when the job is complete through the shop.
  • Delivers customer cars to service stalls as requested by technicians.
  • Picks up parts from the parts department as directed by technicians.
  • Performs safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
  • Replenishes supplies as requested by technicians or service manager.
  • Attends training classes and departmental meetings.
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor and the Lead Technician immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean. To include assigned bay/work area.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, SDS management, etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.

SKILLS and REQUIRMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) in addition to 6+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • English language required, (Bilingual a plus)
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract multiply and dived in all units of measure, using whole number, common factors and decimals.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
  • Must be able to pass pre employment screening (background and drug.)
