Stevinson Toyota West is seeking an apprentice technician to join their Service team.
Previous dealership Lube Technician experience is required.
Compensation: $18 - $25/hr flat rate with hourly guarantee
Work Hours: Full Time work schedule. Schedule same as supervising technician.

JOB Description SUMMARY
Completes all work assigned by the supervising technician. Gains knowledge and skills through on the job training.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works alongside an assigned technician to learn to perform quality vehicle service maintenance and repairs.
- Shows proficiency as an express/lube tech technician.
- Only flags a completed line on the repair order when the job is complete through the shop.
- Delivers customer cars to service stalls as requested by technicians.
- Picks up parts from the parts department as directed by technicians.
- Performs safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
- Replenishes supplies as requested by technicians or service manager.
- Attends training classes and departmental meetings.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor and the Lead Technician immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean. To include assigned bay/work area.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
- Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, SDS management, etc.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
SKILLS and REQUIRMENTS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) in addition to 6+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- English language required, (Bilingual a plus)
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract multiply and dived in all units of measure, using whole number, common factors and decimals.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must maintain Toyota/Lexus factory required certification and testing as released and required from the manufacturer.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
- Must be able to pass pre employment screening (background and drug.)
