PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Sales Manager will ensure an extraordinary client experience while creating client advocates. The Sales Manager’s job is to help manage (lead) the sales staff; assisting in controlling inventory, contribute to an exceptional client experience, resolve client issues, and assist in exceeding all department performance measures. Sales Manager’s will also protect the dealership from fraudulent activity and ensure the integrity of running an ethical business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists in creating strategies and awareness to exceed manufacturer performance measures
- Helps to proactively analyze and effectively manage inventory and helps to properly plan for each month’s inventory needs
- Remains compliant with state and federal regulations. Federal regulations such as but not limited to: OFAC, Red Flag, Adverse Actions, and Risk Based Pricing Rules
- Helps to lead other department members with efforts to remain as compliant as possible and contributes to monitoring the DealerTrack Compliance Dashboard
- Reinforces strategies and efforts for increasing market share, gross profit, client satisfaction, member retention, F&I profit and any additional corporate goals
- Oversees the execution of the Sales Process, both floor and internet sales teams
- Helps to fully prepare for each client appointment and assists the Sales Experience Managers with delivering the ideal client experience
- Helps sales professionals execute individual business plans and communicates with Business Manager(s) on these plans.
- Provides ongoing feedback to Product Concierges/Technology Specialists on how to grow and contribute to the ideal client experience
- Contracts or collects all money at closing
- Maintains a working knowledge of purchases, leases and F&I products
- Understands all current new car and pre-owned manufacture and captive lender programs and rate Assists the Sales Consultant with verification of insurance and completion of paperwork Reviews, updates and manages inventory reports daily (Pace)
- Prepares and reviews monthly operational plan with Sales Director and General Manager Assists Human Resources in the hiring process
- Creates and executes strategy for increasing market share
- Meets and greets client appointments set by Call Center
- Maintains professional relationships with manufacturers
- Reports vehicles sold to manufacturer
- Utilizes Client Relationship Management (CRM) and Auto Alert systems daily to coach Sales Consultants to achieve monthly goals through effective client retention and prospecting strategies
- Knows and understands the Client Concern Resolution (CCR) process, and use the program to achieve client satisfaction
- Knows and understands the Park Place Privacy and Information Security Policies, and adhere to the requirements
- Holds weekly department meetings
- Grows & develops direct reports
- Attends weekly Manager meetings
- Other duties as assigned
