HR(0905)-HR Assistant
SUMMARY:
HR Assistants serve in a support role for the HR department. They often interact with employees and direct them to the appropriate resources to resolve the HR issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely perform job duties
- Maintains full confidentiality of Human Resources matters
- Performs administrative duties such as first line of contact with office visits during HR open office hours, answering incoming calls, sorting and managing the HR support email re-routing the messages and responding once full trained for the department.
- Assist recruiter as needed in all areas of full recruitment administrative functions, in planning staffing needs; implement a staffing plan in place for volume hires.
- Assists Payroll with basic administrative functions.
- Support the HR team when office duties are needed when they are working off site.
- Maintain HR records in multiple areas.
- Coordinates onboarding/terminations with Human Resources Generalists/Management.
- Assists with background checks of new hires and rehires specific to the positions to ensure successful clearance prior to hiring; advises hiring managers when applicants have cleared.
- Assists with new hire orientation including preparation of new hire packets; ensures new hire completes all mandated forms
- Updates organizational charts as needed.
- Assists in updates ASI HR Website as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be enrolled in 6 units, maintaining a 2.0 average.
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and security of information.
- Knowledge of windows-based personal computers – Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Six months of administrative support experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to copier, fax, printer etc.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge in California Employment and Labor Laws; ability to apply basic employment laws in areas of responsibility
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
