Junior Accountant

Join Our Team as a Junior Accountant!

Are you passionate about accounting and eager to grow your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment? We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team, where you will play a key role in performing general accounting functions and month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile JCS bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Maintain account reconciliations as needed, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Process and submit 1099s to the IRS, ensuring compliance with regulations and deadlines.
• Assist with the fiscal year-end annual audit, providing support to the Controller as needed.
• Assist with any additional accounting and/or administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; AA degree or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• Two or more years of work-related experience, preferably in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Understanding of JCS’ relationship with the ASSOCIATED, the Baltimore Jewish community, and the community-at-large.
• Familiarity with and/or sensitivity to Jewish identity.
