Job Description

Legacy Behavioral Health Services is offering PAID 600 hour APEX therapist internship opportunities. APEX interns will work as part of the Apex Program which is an extension of therapy services within the school systems we serve, providing individual and family sessions within the school setting. Apex Therapists and Interns work closely with school counselors, social workers, teachers, and administration staff to wrap around the student to help them succeed. We work closely with the Legacy clinic staff to have appointments scheduled with both the nurse and doctor and provide this information to the families and schools as needed. Apex is a rewarding way to serve students in a non-traditional setting. Are you ready to step into an internship role?

 This position requires:

• Current graduate student pursuing a qualifying Master’s Degree in MFT, Psychology, or Social Work
• Willing to complete a service agreement after graduation.
• Someone who is dedicated to quality work
• Someone who is a self-starter and goal orientated
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, conflict resolution, and teamwork
• Computer experience

Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off-campus locations in LBHS or personal vehicle.

• Estudiante de posgrado actual que cursa una maestría calificada en MFT, Psicología o Trabajo Social

Demandas físicas-

Sentarse, caminar y estar de pie: podrá pasar hasta el veinticinco por ciento del tiempo de trabajo de pie/caminando. Levantar, transportar, empujar, tirar: generalmente no se necesitan más de diez libras de fuerza para levantar, transportar, empujar o tirar objetos. Agacharse, y arrodillarse: es posible que sea necesario agacharse y arrodillarse ocasionalmente para solucionar problemas con el equipo o ayudar a los clientes. Destreza manual/repeticiones de muñeca y mano: se necesita buena destreza manual y de dedos; se podrá dedicar hasta el setenta y cinco por ciento del tiempo de trabajo a utilizar el teclado de un ordenador. Visión, oído, habla: debe tener buena agudeza visual y percepción de profundidad para operar el sistema informático; Hablar y oír son esenciales para las necesidades de comunicación del puesto.

Condiciones ambientales-

En el entorno de trabajo se encuentran piezas mecánicas móviles. El trabajo se realiza en un ambiente bien iluminado, con temperatura y humedad controladas. Se le podrá solicitar en ocasiones viajar a otro lugar de trabajo. Debe poder hacer arreglos para asistir a estos según sea necesario.
