GC&E Systems Group (GC&E) seeks an experienced Service Manager for its growing Security Technologies division.

 

The Service Manger will ensure the continued focus on the customer and the correct implementation of policies, procedures, and the processes to improve the company’s infrastructure so as the company grows the “quality” of customer care stays high and consistent.  The person that takes this challenge on is a hands-on, take-charge and has a get-it-done personality with the ability to build consensus among employees on how and when to institute change for the betterment of the organization. 

 

The Service Manager will drive customer satisfaction.  He/she is responsible for maintaining effective customer communications and building solid customer relationships from initial contact through order acquisition, delivery, installation, inspection and service.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine fair and manageable work assignments for technicians & inspectors
  • Ensure that fair and effective performance measurements are assigned and that employees are motivated to achieve and/or exceed their assigned goals and objectives utilizing management tools and practices
  • Manage the “24/7 on-call services program” to ensure the answering service is supported by a technician with customer issues and problem solving
  • Review and approve staff timesheets and requests for time off
  • Ensure that employees comply with corporate safety programs and that employee safety training is complete and up-to-date
  • Complete accident investigations as required by the EHS policies. 
  • Complete monthly job site inspections as required
  • Ensure complete understanding of company policies and review with employees to promote understanding and compliance
  • Create policies & procedures for the service department
  • Budgeting and forecasting – service budgets
  • Staffing of service department
  • Purchasing of equipment
  • Processes for tracking jobs and job costs
  • Department-wide quality control process/checks & balances
  • Regularly scheduled meeting with staff
  • Meeting with sales, operations staff and administration to work out processes and or disputes
  • Meeting face to face with customers to solve problems/issues
  • Developed customer care policies/procedures
  • Perform additional duties as required.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates Degree in a business or engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated management abilities to include training and team building.
  • Strong, positive leadership skills.  Action oriented.
  • Understanding of P&L components and relationships.
  • Proficient with MS Office as well as online systems. 
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Overnight travel may be required.

 

Previous manufacturer experience or certifications with: Axis, Hanwha, Bosch, iPro,  Genetec, Avigilon, Software House,  Identiv, and Open Options are a plus.
