STS Systems Support, LLC is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer with an aircraft maintenance background.

Responsibilities and Duties

Engineering Support relating to aircraft heavy maintenance base operations maintenance, repair and overhauls MRO's.
Providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs. 
This often includes performing structural analysis.
Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize fmancial impact.
Provide support for business development, proposal writing, executing the work, and reporting the results directly to the client.
Research, develop, and provide solutions to complex inspection related maintenance issues.
Position requires frequent internal customer contact.
Follow established procedures for collecting, organizing, and analyzing product data, researching 
inspection task findings, technical issues related to inspection programs, component reliability, product enhancements, service documents.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s within Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering degree.
MS or PhD degrees in engineering are preferred, but not required.
Firm understanding of the underlying physics of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, or heat transfer.
Design or analysis experience in vehicle propulsion systems, aircraft engines, turbomachinery, or gas turbines.
Previous exposure to engine calibration/testing/development.
Working knowledge of PC-based presentation, spreadsheet, & word processing software.
Experience with maintenance and repair practices used in the aerospace industry
Basic understanding in following engineering disciplines; electrical, software, & mechanical.
Basic understanding of equations governing hydraulics/pneumatics, rotational/linear mechanical dynamics, thermodynamics, electrical circuits, and compressible flow.
Basic understanding of engine control systems, sensors, laboratory test equipment, and calibration techniques.
Knowledge of engine systems or the ability to interpret theory of operation instructions to learn unfamiliar areas of the propulsion system.
Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies and vendor manuals (AMM, IPC, CMM).
Experience with aircraft technical manuals, task relationships and familiar with Technical Orders and Technical Order System requirements or equivalent Aircraft MRO and aviation engineering experience desired.
Experience reading and interpreting aircraft engineering drawings and process
specifications.
A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Special Requirements:

Understanding and interpretation of engineering data with previous experience using Technical Orders to maintain military aircraft. 
Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and have a security clearance or be able to qualify and obtain a clearance.
Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
Aircraft structural and composite repair experience.
Aircraft depot maintenance experience preferred.
