PURPOSE:

To manage blending and bulk fluid handling (truck, rail, and tote) operations to include but not limited to blending, loading/unloading bulk fluids, tank management, bulk fluid and blending additive inventory management, bulk shipment/receipt scheduling, develop and administer the blending schedule and management of related personnel. Direct report to Plant Manager

 

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage Blending Department
  • Develop blending schedule and ensure availability of blends to support bulk shipments and packaging lines consistent with the master schedule and bulk shipment lead times
  • Develop and manage shipping schedule for outbound bulk shipments
  • Prepare blends according to formulations and procedures developed by the lab and outlined in our ISO9001:2015 QMS
  • Ensure accuracy of all base oil and additive inventories
  • Coordinate monthly cycle counts of bulk and additive inventories
  • Accurate tracking of flush and residual blends in heel, cone, pumps, and pipes
  • Coordinate with lab sampling and QC of blends, inbound receipts, and outbound shipments
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure adequate time is allotted for scheduled line maintenance and/or repairs
  • Assist in physical inventory count and reconciliation
  • Initiate Corrective and Preventive Actions as needed
  • Day to day management of blending, bulk handling, and bulk shipping personnel
  • Support the HSE program through active participation in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSE policies, standards and programs
  • Manage HSE programs and tasks as required by role
  • Demonstrate HSE leadership throughout the organization
  • Improve blending efficiency and first pass QC approval
  • Implement, develop, and train to best practice blending, loading and unloading procedures
  • Manage tank farm for maximum turns and increased flexibility
  • Evaluate current tank utilization for highest and best use of each
  • Evaluate and improve handling of slop oil
  • Evaluate and decrease amount of flush / manage flush for highest and best use
  • Assist in developing acceptable fluid inventory variances and track performance against targets
  • Ensure proper training to procedures to ensure blending operation continues in your absence (vacation, illness, other PTO)
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

  • High School Diploma

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

  • 10+ years of experience in a blending role preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Chemistry/Engineering)
  • 3-5+ Years of scheduling experience in a blending environment preferred
  • SAP proficiency is preferred

  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office -Excel, Word, and Outlook
