Job Summary 

The Grant and Resource Development Writer is responsible for pre and post award technical writing for non-profit grant proposals, professional presentations, and white papers.  Grant types include federal, state, municipal, foundation and research-based grant programs. The non-profit primary subject matter areas include behavioral health, mental illness, substance use, poverty, homelessness, and housing.  Essential skills include the identification of grant opportunities, writing, proofreading, editing, and submitting impactful proposals, as well as letters of inquiry, grant reports, and acknowledgement letters. The Grant and Resource Development Writer will work with all areas of the organization to develop dynamic and competitive grant proposals, scopes of work and narratives.  Assist agency leadership in developing conference presentations, abstracts, and papers.  

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 

  • Minimum three-five (3-5) years of successful experience in grant writing and management, preferably with both federal and non-federal funds, to include all aspects of a grant management program. 

  • Previous experience in a non-profit or grant making organization preferred. 

  • Experience successfully applying for and administering grant funds is preferred. 

  • Experience as a trainer/facilitator both in-person and online preferred. 

  • Proven success with large-scale initiatives, change management, and culture shifts required. 

  • Experience directing and implementing new systems, processes, and technology to enhance internal operations and organizational effectiveness required.
