The Cedarville University School of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Computer Science and Cyber Operations. Strong candidates may be considered for appointment at the Professor level. Rank is commensurate with experience.

The School of Engineering and Computer Science is housed in a modern facility with extensive state-of-the-art laboratories. We offer ABET-accredited programs in Computer Science (CS), Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a program in Cyber Operations. The CS program is accredited by ABET in both Computer Science and Cybersecurity.  Cedarville’s Cyber Program is designated as an NSA Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Operations, one of approximately twenty-four universities in the nation with this designation. The program is also designated a CAE in Cyber Defense.

Faculty candidates are sought with expertise in Computer Science. Academic or industry experience in CS, AI/ML, or Cyber Operations is desirable.

Position Description:

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses and laboratories, advising students, and advising senior design projects. The teaching duties of this position may include teaching courses in both the Computer Science and Cyber Operations programs.  The successful candidate will be expected to participate with current faculty in the further development of innovative curricula for our Computer Science and Cyber Operations programs.

This position is subject to the University's verification of credentials and other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a criminal history investigation. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. This position is pending budget approval.

Position Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline preferred; strong candidates with an M.S. degree will also be considered.
  • Relevant industry experience desirable.
  • Expertise in Computer Science.
  • Academic or industry experience in CS, AI/ML, or Cyber Operations is desirable. 
  • A broad computer science background that includes expertise in software engineering, algorithms, programming languages, and cyber operations.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate subject material and relate with students and faculty.
  • Commitment to biblical integration in and out of the classroom.
  • Qualified applicant must be a born-again Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
