Resident Director
 
Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Resident Director to provide supervision for a female residence hall, which includes: planning and programming, supervising Resident Assistants, administration of University regulations, and residence hall upkeep. Qualified individuals will also provide leadership by serving as a role model for students. This is a full-time (1560 annual hours), exempt position that reports to the Dean of Women.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
  • Hires and provides direct oversight for Resident Assistants.
  • Plans and implements programs for his/her residence hall.
  • Supervises the general maintenance of the residence hall.
  • Administrates the regulations in the residence hall.
  • Assists with student room assignment and processing the students moving in and checking
  • out.
  • Oversees residence hall budget.
  • Maintains accurate records such as: discipline, Spiritual Formation Reports, Room
  • Condition Contracts, room checks, and sign in/sign out records.
  • Cultivates relationships with students, including the Resident Assistants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Student Development Dean/Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred).
  • Must provide a positive example of a mature and growing relationship with Christ.
  • Must be passionate about working with college students and willing to adjust to changing needs of each new generation of students.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Qualified applicant must be a born-again Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
  • Qualified applicant must agree with and be willing to abide by Cedarville University's Doctrinal StatementCommunity Covenant, and General Workplace Standards
REQUIRED MENTAL/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
  • Ability to hear and speak clearly.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Capable of visiting any residence hall room on campus without physical assistance.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Work is performed in an office environment
  • Periodic interactions with inclement weather due to the nature of the position
