Cedarville University is seeking to hire an Assistant Coach for the Women's Soccer program who will help foster a distinctive culture in competitive athletics that commissions student-athletes to impact the world for Christ. This is a full-time (2080), exempt position that reports to the Women’s Soccer Head Coach

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Strives to reflect the Athletic Department core values: Christ-centered, Excellence, Integrity, Community, and Humility.  Will offer ongoing support to develop a culture that emphasizes these values.
  • Mentor and spiritually disciple players.
  • Support player academic endeavors.
  • Develop practice plans and lead on the field and/or in the classroom sessions.
  • Able to instruct and demonstrate soccer skills and techniques in practice.
  • Understand the tactics and use of different soccer formations.
  • Review and clip game film for team instruction and lead film session.
  • Monitor player fitness & weight-training programs.
  • Establish & communicate scouting reports, practice plans, and game plans.
  • Help in varsity and reserve player evaluations.
  • Manage and coach the reserve team.
  • Organize and manage gear, equipment, and inventory.
  • Coordinate recruitment.
  • Use the ARMs compliance & recruitment platform.
  • Evaluate recruits.
  • Schedule recruit official and unofficial visits
  • Attend club games, showcases and high school games.
  • Communicate with high school and club coaches.
  • Soccer camp, clinic and youth league administration and organization
  • Complete compliance and budget forms
  • Establish communication with alumni and donors.
  • Help organize and coordinate team mission trips.
  • Maintain a commitment to the NCAA, Conference, and University rule compliance.
  • Report any NCAA, Conference, and University rule violations to the compliance coordinator.
  • Understand that violations of the NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  • Other duties assigned by the head coach.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA degree required; Masters preferred.
  • Previous coaching experience (collegiate experience preferred)
  • Collegiate playing experience preferred.
  • Preferably holds a USC National Diploma, or a U.S. Soccer ‘D’ or ‘C’ License
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with coaches, student-athletes, parents and others
  • Knowledge of NCAA DI or DII either as athlete of coach preferred.
  • Self-motivated with initiative and work ethic
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Have access to/use of a personal vehicle.
  • A pleasant and professional personality
