Cedarville University seeks qualified individuals to serve in various academic disciplines as Dual Enrollment (DE) Lead Adjunct Instructors in support of our Christian School Partnership initiative. Lead opportunities are available in the following areas:

  • Foundations for College Writing
  • Composition
  • Introduction to Literature
  • Western Literature
  • US History I and II
  • Politics and American Culture
  • College Algebra
  • Pre-Calculus
  • Principles of Biology
  • Principles of Earth Science
  • Personal Finance
  • Fundamentals of Speech

Responsibilities include teaching online course sections in partnership with Christian Schools and in adherence to the course objectives, syllabus, and content developed by the respective university School or Department; supervising and supporting high school course facilitators, providing timely and constructive feedback to high school students, motivating and assisting students in achievement of course learning objectives, maintaining academic credentials and expertise in the discipline to be taught, and adhering to university instructional standards. Additionally, the DE Lead Adjunct Instructor will connect with students as required by the university to demonstrate regular and substantive interaction. The DE Lead Adjunct Instructor will also maintain responsibility for assigned student grades.

The DE Lead Adjunct Instructor will provide six hours of training to high school facilitators during the summer, in preparation for Fall instruction, and provide on-going support for high school facilitators. The DE Lead Adjunct Instructor is required to participate in ten hours of training conducted by the Center for Teaching and Learning at Cedarville University.

Adjuncts may be utilized on a temporary, part-time basis to provide instruction during the academic year. These temporary adjunct positions are subject to Cedarville University policies, verification of credentials, and other information required by law, including the successful completion of a background check.

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of 18 credit hours completed in a relevant discipline at a Master’s level is required
  • Expertise (e.g., relevant experience, research, publication) in the applicable discipline
  • Documented successful teaching experience at the collegiate level is strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Competency in online delivery systems, with preference given to the Canvas LMS
  • Demonstrated understanding of the high school learner
  • Qualified candidate must be a born-again Christian
