About This Opportunity

We are seeking an Energy Monitoring Technician

The Energy Monitoring Technician (EMT) is responsible for building, overseeing installation, and maintaining a network of energy monitoring equipment for customers participating in our Corporate Energy Management (CEM) program.  They are also responsible to manage requests, program data loggers, test sensors, ship, and download data for our Cascade data logging requests.  In both functions, the EMT provides customer service to ensure the equipment is functioning properly and provides troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues promptly. Also this role will assist in the management of cellular data plans, sizes, costs, and working with vendors to maintain inventory on parts and guiding customers through remote installations.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Correspond with and track responses from customer and utilities regarding the energy monitoring hardware, communication connections, installation and upgrades.
  • Track and manage communications and interactions with customers and internal Cascadian’s within the Cascade systems. (ASANA, OneNote, Sharepoint)
  • Package, label, notify and coordinate shipments of energy monitoring  & data logging equipment to customers according to the schedule.
  • Build and assemble all types of energy monitoring modules for the Corporate Energy Management group.
  • Parts purchasing, configuration, shipping, installation oversight, and remote troubleshooting support for energy monitoring systems.
  • Remotely working with customers or installing contractors to guide them through installation of the monitoring modules.
  • Assemble electrical enclosures using basic manufacturing skills, including drilling, and tapping steel backing plates, mounting components, configuring the equipment, and running tests to ensure functionality.
  • Remotely monitor health and status of cellular points and energy monitoring system deployed at customer facilities.
  • Provide support and work toward closure on a number of issues or project tasks at any given time.
  • Collaborate with CEM team to development and sustain Tableau reports in order to pinpoint trouble spots.
  • Identification of recurring device health issues and provide path to ongoing resolution.
  • Perform data logging system support, through the assembly, programming, testing, shipping, downloading data, and return of data logging equipment for Cascade.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic data logging sensors and loggers.
  • Manage data logging requests, resolve scheduling issues, and fulfill requests.
  • Maintain data logger inventory, replace failed units, ensure units returned from customers, and issues PO’s for replacement units per data logger budget Maintain the organization of the hardware work area, testing, and shipping areas
  • Completion of quarterly ROCK assignments to improve our CEM department and hardware team operational, systems, and technical functions.
  • Completion of internal electrical system safety training courses, and timely completion of monthly safety training refresher courses.

 

This is a full-time, non-exempt position located in Portland Oregon. Must be able to be in our downtown office 1-5 days per week, as workload demands.

 

Qualifications

Applicants for this role are required to have:

  • High School Diploma (required), associate’s degree or higher (preferred).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, electronics, IT (networks, routing, VPN) a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. The hourly pay range for this non-exempt position in Portland Oregon is $21.49 - $26.30/hour. However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location if different than the above.
