Lighting Design is a strategic initiative which allows for customer engagement in a more meaningful way, especially within the architectural lighting category. The Lighting Design Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day‐to‐day activities of the lighting design team. As a project coordinator, this role will oversee the lighting design task management system, maintain documentation and graphic standards and provide project support through technical expertise and fundamental execution.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Lighting Design Task Management System
- Support project field with technical questions on product and specifications
- Update and maintain standard deliverables (CAD documentation, fixture schedule, and graphic presentations)
- Support the team in meeting/exceeding architectural lighting sales goals through lighting design efforts
- Meet established project and internal deadlines
- Support lighting designers in the creation of lighting schedules and specification packages
- Execute project edits on an as needed basis
- Support project field with technical questions regarding product and specifications on an as needed basis
- Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of project based residential lighting design/project management experience required
- Experience must include creation of lighting plans, lighting schedules, and lighting specification packages
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Lighting Design, or Architecture not required, but an advantage
- Strong domestic architectural lighting acumen, acute knowledge of residential dimming protocols including basic wiring
- Sales experience not required, but an advantage
- Proven ability to clearly articulate installation instructions and troubleshoot in the moment
- Proficient computer skills utilizing AutoCAD, Acrobat, Excel, and Adobe Suite
- Knowledge of residential construction processes and a deft understanding of construction documents
- Critical thinking, superior organization, planning skills, time management and prioritization with the ability to multi‐task and thrive under pressure in a dynamic, multi‐location team environment
- Excellent communication skills, possess the ability to clearly articulate design and technical information to clients and internal teams
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times and possess the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to achieve results both independently and through collaboration
- Strong analytical skills with a consistent focus on results measurement and fact‐based decision making
