Maintenance Technician II

The Distribution Center Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the entire facility with focus on maintenance of standard operating procedures, scheduled inspections, and troubleshooting various material handling systems and equipment. Through this important work, the Maintenance Technician II supports the Distribution Center in achieving Visual Comfort’s purpose.

Responsibilities:

• Provides support for the entire facility with focus on development and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
• Performs preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
• Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Responds to and resolves equipment issues in a timely manner.
• May require 24-hour availability for emergency response.
• Assists in the purchase of spare parts and components necessary to minimize system downtime.
• Maintains equipment maintenance logs.
• May be required to work in confined spaces.
• Works with external contractors for repairs or projects.
• Will be required to handle hazardous materials.
• Wears the proper safety equipment.
• Performs other maintenance department duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Associates degree or trade school certification in mechanical, electrical, controls, or equivalent related work experience preferred
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance, or related work experience, preferred
• Previous warehouse experience preferred
• Conveyor system experience preferred
• Current forklift certification preferred
• Welding and fabricating experience preferred
• Must have a “Safety First” mentality
• Inventory management, equipment maintenance, data entry, and basic computer skills required
• Good communication, organizational, time management and mathematical skill
• Able to multi-task and work independently
• Ability to anticipate and make decisions under pressure
• Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks
