Summary

The Order Management Specialist plays a key role in our overall business plan. This position is chiefly responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of all customer orders as well as all vendor POs to ensure timely delivery of merchandise. The position requires an excellent self-starter with strong organizational skills and exceptional multi-tasking abilities

 

Responsibilities

  • Receive and track all incoming customer orders
  • Plan and execute procurement of finished goods and raw materials from domestic and international suppliers
  • Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in SAP
  • Communicate clearly with overseas suppliers on order changes and exceptions
  • Assist with maintaining accurate product information in Item Master
  • Participate in weekly calls/meetings with customers to discuss current issues
  • Organize and manage a high volume of email communication with timely follow-up
  • Review vendor and customer open orders on a weekly basis and reconcile as needed
  • Create/update international shipping documents (commercial invoice, packing list, FCR, etc.) and send/upload to customer and freight forwarder contacts
  • Report on key account metrics to direct supervisor and upper management
  • Assist with occasional small package shipments through FedEx / UPS / DHL systems on an as-needed basis
  • Complete special projects and assignments as needed

 

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • Customer Service, Account Management, or other relevant experience is strongly preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel
  • Ability to mine large amounts of data in spreadsheets and prepare meaningful reports
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
