As a member of the Human Resources team, the HR and Benefits Coordinator is responsible for supporting a variety of HR functions, with a primary focus of onboarding, offboarding, and employee benefits. In this position you must have outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. An HR and Benefits coordinator is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and time management skills. You will have excellent administrative and IT skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
- Maintain copies of employees' records.
- Assist with onboarding duties of all new hires.
- Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
- Assist with offboarding processes and documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Coordinate benefits enrollment for new employees and manage changes for existing employees.
- Conduct benefits orientation and explain benefits self-enrollment system.
- Assist with the administration of leaves of absence and disability programs.
- Assist with annual open enrollment.
- Prepare reports and presentations on benefits and HR metrics as required.
- Support other assigned functions.
- Stay updated with the latest HR trends and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
- 2+ years of experience as an HR coordinator.
- Bilingual—English and Spanish, preferred.
- Working knowledge of HRIS, Ceridian Dayforce experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to employee benefits.
- Effective HR administration and people management skills.
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
