CNX Resources, a leading independent natural gas exploration and production company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reservoir Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a  Reservoir Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the production and recovery of hydrocarbon resources from unconventional shale plays. Target Responsibilities:

  • Manage the well life cycle from inception through TIL. Coordinate with land, permitting, construction, midstream, drilling, completions, marketing, and production activities to promote efficiency and maximize NAV.
  • Conduct comprehensive reservoir and economic analysis and modeling to optimize well design to maximize production and recovery from unconventional shale plays.
  • Perform decline curve analysis, rate transient analysis, pressure transient analysis, and other reservoir engineering techniques to evaluate well performance and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Analyze the effects of pressure dependent permeability on ultimate recovery; Optimize drawdown strategy based on pricing environment.
  • Analyze DFIT data to identify pressure dependent permeability signatures, existence of natural fractures, half-length estimates compared to RTA, reservoir pressure verification.
  • Identify early time flow regimes for more accurate preliminary EUR estimates.
  • Work with broader team using available public/private data to determine land acquisition targets for future development.
  • Work with Corporate Reserves to prepare and present SEC Year End Reserves estimates to auditors and upper management
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geologic, geophysical, and petrophysical data into reservoir models.
  • Utilize data analytics platforms, such as Spotfire, to analyze large datasets and identify trends, correlations, and opportunities for improvement in well performance.
  • Develop and update reservoir models to support production forecasting and reserve estimation.
  • Work closely with field operations teams to optimize well completions and production strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and geoscientists.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to reservoir engineering.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in reservoir engineering with a focus on unconventional shale plays.
  • Software Proficiency in Aries, IHS Harmony, Enersight, and other relevant engineering software.
  • Strong knowledge of reservoir characterization, production forecasting, and reserve estimation techniques.
  • Experience with data analytics platforms like Spotfire for data analysis and visualization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound engineering decisions based on data.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
