Plumber $27.00-$30.00 per Hour

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

1. This position is responsible for performing complex skilled and technical work in repairing, maintaining, and installing building water and sewer systems, fixtures, and equipment throughout the Hotel and Casino. Performs inspections and tests on plumbing equipment and systems. Repairs and replaces water heaters and recirculating pumps; clears stoppages in drains. Maintains plumbing inventory of spare parts and initiates replacement supplies and equipment as necessary; makes cost and material estimates for plumbing projects as needed. Collects data for preventive maintenance system; contractor assists as needed. Completes work orders daily and performs other engineering duties as assigned. Required Knowledge:

Plumbing - Through knowledge of plumbing and related systems to lead diagnostic tasks for complex maintenance and repair activities; thorough knowledge of the standards, practices and equipment of the plumbing trade and applicable state and national plumbing and safety codes.

• Re-pipe underground and overhead
• Must be able to remove/install plumbing fixtures.
• Know how to repair & replace faucets and flush valves
• Know how to unclog urinals and toilets
• Have knowledge of underground waste line and wall pipes
• Have knowledge of water heater and pumps
• Must be able to work with copper piping, ABS, PVC,

      galvanized, carbon steel, and cast iron piping.

• Must have the ability use and solder up to 2” copper pipe
• Knowledge of requirements for water piping, chilled water piping, hot water piping, and drain lines.

Equipment Operation – Thorough knowledge of the proper procedures for operating, inspecting and maintaining tools and related equipment as needed to construct and maintain properties and equipment. Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the operation of equipment.

• Must have the ability to use solder
• Have the ability & knowledge to use snake and other plumbing equipment.

  General equipment for maintenance.

• Knowledge of California Plumbing code and Mechanical code.
  • Operates the following equipment: Scissor lift, Fork Lift, and Pallet Jack up to five thousand (5,000) pounds capacity.

Physical Requirements

• Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work.

• Some combination of climbing and balancing to include climbing ladders,   stooping, kneeling, crouching, jumping and crawling.

• • May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds) per eight (8) hour shift.

3. Completes all other work-related duties as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor/ Engineering Manager /Director of Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience Required:  5 years minimum experience.

Education: High School Diploma and/or equivalent.  Trade school preferred or the equivalent combination of work experience and education.

Other Requirements:  Needs to be certified or willing to get certification in a timely manner.  Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.  Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.  Ability to stand and walk the entire shift excluding breaks and meal periods.  Must demonstrate positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments.  Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.  Must be clean, well-groomed, and have a professional appearance.

SCHEDULED HOURS

Commerce Casino operates 24 hours, 7 days a week.  Schedules may vary depending on business needs.
