POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Communications Coordinator’s main responsibility is producing content that clearly conveys the status, strategy, and plans of internal business partners and ensuring that the company’s values, mission, and vision are reflected in that content. This role reports to the Director of Administrative Planning in the Administration Department and will be assigned to support the Senior Director of Casino Operations and other casino management as needed. This role is critical in ensuring that communication flows efficiently within the organization, helping the Senior Director collaborate across departments and execute strategic initiatives.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

Communication Management:

  • Serve as the primary liaison for information, content, and documentation between the Senior Director of Casino Operations and internal stakeholders, including but not limited to executive leadership, department leaders, managers, and operational staff.
  • Attend and take notes at meetings, organize communications, draft/prepare, review, and distribute internal communications, including memos, reports, emails, proposals, and presentations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
  • Provide insight, ideas and solutions to Senior Director of Casino Operations and operational team related to communications from Operations in order to support the alignment of Operations’ initiatives to Company objectives; spend considerable time with Senior Director of Casino Operations to learn and understand communication style, intention and expectations.

 

 

 

Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and events for the Senior Director of Casino Operations, including agenda preparation, meeting/event summaries, and follow-up on action items.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Casino Operations with calendaring meetings, prioritizing appointments and ensuring efficient time management.
  • Organize travel arrangements and itineraries for the Senior Director of Casino Operations.

Operational Support:

  • Understand daily casino operations, regulatory/compliance requirements, and strategic initiatives by working closely with department heads to address any issues or improvements, and better be able to provide clear messaging
  • Prepare operational memos and reports, including performance metrics and expectations.
  • Provide administrative support, such as document preparation, filing, organization and record-keeping.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop positive and professional relationships with key stakeholders at all levels; understand their roles, departments and needs as they relate to engagement with Casino Operations.
  • Facilitate communication between the Senior Director of Casino Operations and internal and external stakeholders, including leadership, department heads, operations staff, regulators, vendors, and partners.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders to support the Senior Director of Casino Operations’ strategic and development goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Work Experience Required:

2-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality, gaming, or entertainment industries.  Fluency in Spanish is a plus but is not required.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.

 

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal (high EQ) skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism. Proactive in identifying issues and implementing solutions.
  • Attention to Detail. Meticulous in managing details, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
  • Adaptability. Ability to remain flexible and adjust to changing circumstances and priorities.

SCHEDULED HOURS

 

Commerce Casino operates 24 hours, 7 days a week. Schedules may vary depending on business needs.
