Forklift Operator

Forklift Job Summary:

The Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, and stack products within the warehouse. The role includes maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring safe handling of materials, and supporting overall warehouse operations.

Forklift Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a forklift or other material handling equipment to move, load, unload, stack, and stage products and materials throughout the warehouse.
• Retrieve products for shipment, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery to customers.
• Conduct regular inventory counts, maintain accurate inventory records, and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Inspect products for damage or defects and report any issues to the appropriate department for resolution.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including daily equipment inspections and safe driving practices, to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring that products and materials are stored safely and efficiently.
• Complete all necessary paperwork, including shipping and receiving documents, and update inventory systems as required.
• Work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Forklift Job Requirements:

• Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred. Certification may be required.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to follow safety procedures.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperature conditions within the warehouse.
• Must be able to perceive and respond to safety signals, including alarms, horns, and warning signs.
