Job Title: Order Filler – Online Shipping & Packaging

Hours: Monday – Friday 5:20 – 2:00pm (Optional Saturdays, Daily start and end times may vary)

Rate: $17/Hour to start, opportunity to earn raises and bonuses based on performance

Job Description:
Saad Meats, a premier supplier of quality meats located in Detroit’s Eastern Market, is seeking a detail-oriented Order Filler to join our online shipping and packaging department. This role is essential in ensuring that our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have experience in order fulfillment, be proficient with RF scanners, and have strong computer skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately pick and pack customer orders for shipment using RF scanners and computers.
• Verify order details, ensuring that all items are correct before packaging and shipping.
• Operate within our order management system to confirm orders, update inventory, and track shipments.
• Collaborate with the shipping team to meet daily shipping deadlines and maintain timely deliveries.
• Assist with placing orders in the system and tracking inventory levels.
• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse and packaging areas.
• Safely handle meat products and ensure they are packed securely to preserve quality during transit.
• Ensure proper labeling and documentation of shipments, including handling of shipping labels, invoices, and other paperwork.
• Report any discrepancies or issues with orders, inventory, or shipments to the supervisor.
• Adhere to company safety and sanitation guidelines.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in order fulfillment, shipping, or warehouse operations.
• Proficient with RF scanners and basic computer skills, including experience with inventory or order management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and packaging.
• Ability to lift up to 50-85 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Understanding of shipping processes and carrier services (e.g., FedEx, UPS, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a cold environment (23-32 degrees Fahrenheit).
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
