New Facility Opening! Will be seeking 1st and 2nd shift Shipping/Receiving Clerks as part of the launch. Client will be doing work with the United States Postal Service to sort through undelivered mail.

Shipping/Receiving Clerk Job Description:

Performs clerical and physical tasks in connections with shipping goods of the establishment and receiving incoming shipments.  Verifies materials shipped are as ordered, routes outgoing shipment to appropriate destinations/locations.  Prepares freight for shipment according to established documented procedures

 

Shipping/Receiving Clerk Job Responsibilities:

  • Verifying the accuracy of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against the bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records
  • Checking for damaged goods
  • Insuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishments
  • Preparing and keeping records of goods received
  • Keep work area neat and organized according to 5S standards
  • Check doors for availability of empty trailers and report to Supervisor
  • Check tags for any issues before loading a trailer
  • Scan pallets/totes at dock plate when hi-lo driver brings them to the dock
  • Ensure that all scanned tags are pulled
  • Writes the dock number, carrier and trailer number on the load ID
  • Check all tags in the envelope before taking the completed load into the office
  • Check all pallets for any quality issues such as: torn tags, broken pallets, torn wrap, or damage to stock
  • Returns UDI scanners to the office at end of shift
  • Report to Supervisor any issues that may arise
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Shipping/Receiving Clerk  Job Requirements:

  • Must have a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to demonstrate complete understanding of shipping and receiving system
  • Able to keep neat and organized within warehouse environment
  • Requires organized individual who can maintain delivery schedule so that customers are satisfied and production remains on schedule
  • Must have good communication skills to make arrangements with customers, carriers, and management
  • Should have familiarity with computers
  • Basic Mathematical Skills
  • Analytical and attentive to detail
  • Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions in English
  • Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations
