Production Controller Job Description

Oversees process management and productivity. Provides support to floor supervisors to ensure that operations are running smoothly. Works with IT systems and applications to support an organization's customers and end users.  All to ensure that Production runs smoothly and efficiently, and our quality standards and customer needs are met.

 

Production Controller Job Responsibilities

  • Planning and scheduling: Creating production plans and schedules to meet deadlines
  • Monitoring: Tracking production, material movement, and inventory levels to ensure continuous operations
  • Maintains a clean work area, consistent with workplace organization/5S ideology
  • Monitors open production orders and ensures everything is processed in a timely manner
  • Monitors performance of employees to ensure productivity standards are met
  • Interacts with production supervisors to address daily needs, issues, or concerns
  • Communicates daily expectations to supervisors and production floor personnel
  • Promotes a safe work environment
  • Provides daily operations reports
  • Monitors downtime to ensure efficiency in the production department
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Production Controller Job Qualifications 

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of previous experience
  • Three (3) to Five (5) or more years warehouse experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, instructional, and leadership skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to demonstrate full understanding of production flow process
  • Strong Microsoft office and computer applications skills
  • Ability to use SAP as related to production
  • Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations
