ROLE SUMMARY 

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR related duties supporting our employees in our studio locations.   This position is responsible for employee relations and coaching and development in addition to supporting the full employee life cycle: onboarding, performance management, training, recruiting operations, compensation administration, and policy development and implementationYou will work closely with field leadership, team members, and your colleagues on the HR team resolve conflict, provide coaching to field leadership and team members, offer problem-solving solutions, and guide and direct performance improvement plans. Incredible interpersonal skills and a solid grasp of state and federal employment laws are essential for success in this role as you will interact and navigate complex issues with our passionate population. This position is a key to our day-to-day operations and will require an individual who embraces the entire employee life cycle and how human resources can assist in making CPY better each day. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 

  • Provide visible HR presence to our team members and leaders, act as a coach to managers and team members alike
  • Be the first line of response for employee questions relating to HR policies, communications, and initiatives
  • Resolve day to day employee issues or conflicts while maintaining appropriate documentation
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, objective, and documented investigations providing recommendations for next steps and resolutions; track employee relations issues and provide quarterly metrics on trends
  • Maintain in-dept knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with legal department as needed or required
  • Manage the Human Resources email Inbox, Convercent reports (anonymous team member reporting system), SendGrid for sending mass communications, and other HR communications tools
  • Support the recruiting process by interviewing candidates as needed
  • Participate in onboarding activities for new hires in the field and at our corporate headquarters
  • Partner with cross functional teams on coaching and performance plan support
  • Conduct exit interviews, summarize findings, and discuss trends and concerns with HR and Operations leadership
  • Support implementation of performance management including assisting in training managers and team members on the process
  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and auditing company policies and procedures and helps ensure they are kept up to date with governmental regulations and company objectives  
  • Assist with audits and maintenance of team member data as necessary
  • Support compliance with all federal and state labor laws and regulations
  • Assist the HR Team on miscellaneous projects and initiatives 

EDUCATION, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • 5+ years of experience in a related human resources position
  • Bachelor’s Degree required preferably in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Management
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex issues
  • Understanding and knowledge of multi-state and federal employment laws and regulations; strong experience working with CA state employment laws
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships – identifies opportunities and takes action to work collaboratively; builds partnerships across client groups to support the achievement of goals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and changing environment and can prioritize while working under competing deadlines
  • Proven self-starter with ability to take on new projects with enthusiasm
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Occasional evening, holiday and weekend work maybe required

COMPENSATION 

  • Salary Range: $70,000-85,000
  • Bonus potential up to 10%
