6106 - 737 - Material Handler

We currently have 1st shift available. This is a 12-hour shift with an alternating schedule. Working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The alternating work week schedule includes every other weekend (36 hours one week/48 hours the next). 

$1,000 Sign on Bonus for RPP new hires.

 

SUMMARY:

Load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

Conduct operations in accordance with safety requirements.

 

Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand; load and unload parcels and pallets to/from trailers.

 

Supports production in keeping resin, packaging, etc. on hand.

 

Use inventory control techniques in the required manner; Rotates stock.

 

Pulls orders for shipment to customers as well as pulls samples for incoming inspections as instructed.

 

Maintains warehouse area in a neat and orderly manner.

 

Stocks work in progress and finished goods produced by manufacturing into correct warehouse locations.

 

Pulls work in progress materials for use in assembly area and raw materials for use in production area.

 

Repackage goods, which are damaged in storage.

 

Arrives at work on time and complies with company attendance and tardiness policies.

 

Obeys all rules and performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with 2 to 4 months to one-year related experience and/or training; or 6 months to one years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Previous forklift experience preferred.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand (standing 75% of the time); walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; and use arms above shoulder level.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Items that are extremely heavy (over 50 lbs. up to 100 lbs.) are transported by using assistance. When assistance is required it is defined as using a team lift (another person), hand truck designed to move material, forklift, overhead crane or other material handling equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high places.  The environment is a warehouse environment. If air-conditioning is not available, temperatures may be extreme in winter and summer months. Due to the nature of the material being used in the facility, provided hairnets must be worn at all times on the manufacturing floor. Most jewelry, false fingernails and fingernail polish (even clear coat) are prohibited. Beard covers, if applicable, may be required. Protective eyewear is required to be worn at all times when entering the molding work environment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Hearing protection may be required.
