Discovery Education is looking for an Embedded Professional Development Specialist to co-manage the DreamBox Math and Reading partnership and actively participate in strategic discussions with Montana Office of Public Instruction. Our ideal candidate is one who has a successful track record developing relationships at all levels and turning those into partnerships by managing the account, leading the implementation and serving as a strategic partner with Montana Office of Public Instruction.


This is a remote role located in Billings, Montana.

 

About the Role

Managing the Account

  • Build strong relationships internally and externally and become a strategic partner to the Montana Office of Public Instruction.
  • Define short- and long-range goals of the partnership.
  • Establish an implementation plan that outlines, monitors and ensures effective technical integration support and account maintenance.
  • Provide trouble shooting support as needed.
  • Establish an implementation management plan that identifies key district partnership stakeholders, including the executive cabinet, with corresponding support plan to develop and expand key relationships across the Montana school system.
  • Plan, coordinate, develop, schedule and deliver professional learning activities and any relevant meetings with partners.
  • Present competent, expert information about DreamBox Math and Literacy solutions to ensure clients achieve the outcomes outlined for each learning session.
  • Construct detailed internal and external communications plans and communicate regularly about intended and actual outcomes of all activities.  
  • Develop tools and best practices for successful account management and execution.
  • Maintain accurate/timely records within CRM tools of business development activities and coordinate development reports and outreach and usage dashboards regarding all prospective partner activities.

Leading Educational Partnerships

  • Strategize, develop, and activate outreach strategies that will cultivate and nurture relationships with key decision-making individuals responsible for education programming across Montana.
  • Consistently work with educational leaders to design partnerships of Discovery Education services in a meaningful and solution-oriented way.
  • Ensure that all partners share a common vision about the partnership.
  • Encourage open dialogue about challenges and solutions.
  • Develop and nurture champions that will promote our programs.
  • Ensure top management is on board and supportive of the partnership.

Leading Implementation

  • Develop long-term structural and institutional supports to support the partnership.
  • Promote integration of partnership activities into the district culture.
  • Provide thought leadership to partners by connecting educators with effective practices.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, presentation and problem-solving skills, and account strategy.

General

  • Have an in-person and virtual presence throughout Montana districts and schools to build relationships, conduct professional development, attend and present at conferences, and when appropriate, state and district meetings.
  • Demonstrated experience with large and rural school systems.
  • Travel approximately 60% of time (with seasonal variations). 

 

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a K-12 classroom with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education; and a Master’s Degree; or equivalent work experience.
  • Requires 5 years of experience delivering professional development sessions with demonstrated knowledge of adult learning best practices.  
  • Educational leadership is required.
  • Having served as a district or school leader preferred. Experience in account or project management with exceptional client relations preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Possess a growth mind-set and team-oriented character.
  • Deep understanding of K-12 instructional practices, curriculum standards, and effective professional development strategies preferred.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to immediate or unforeseen challenges.
  • Ability to travel locally to schools weekly and drive for multiple hours at a time.
  • Data-literate to determine needs and validate solutions for educators and schools.
  • Travel approximately 60% of time (with seasonal variations).
