JOB SUMMARY:
Personnel within this job classification perform those duties normally associated with preparation of food items including but not limited to: salads, sandwiches/salads, garnish items and other item in accordance with recipes and hotel menus.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Making cold appetizers and plating of desserts, including salads, vegetable and meat platters, and shucking of oysters
- Preparing vinaigrettes, dressings, garnishes, prepping salad ingredients, and prepping garnishes for desserts
- Opening and closing as well as maintenance of assigned area/given station
- Follow the Southern Nevada Health District's food safety regulations and procedures
- Experience as a pantry cook, prep cook or similar role
- Hands-on experience with professional kitchen equipment
- Good knowledge of food plating techniques
- Understanding of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Availability to work in shifts including evenings and weekends
- SNHD food handlers card required
- Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow given recipes
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
